The sound of Raykin voice fills the halls and tells about his life and about people which he met. Two rooms represent bipolar nature of the exhibition. Exhibition «Dialogue with Fabergé»
Sheremetev palace (The House of Music) presents gems and jewelery created by the best goldsmiths from “Anna Nova” house and the great jeweler Karl Fabergé, from Museum Fabergé, Baden-Baden, the famous Easter “Imperial” egg of Karelian birch by Heirik Wingstrom (1917) given by Nicholas II to the Empress Maria Feodorovna among the exhibits.
Since its foundation in 2004 one of the specialties of “Anna Nova” house was creation of «Objets de fantasie», sophisticated miniatures of gem and precious metal. This kind of “trifles” has a long history in Europe as well as in Russia, where Fabergé was the best. “Anna Nova” strives to develop this tradition in its whole. More...

«Gardens of Tukay» (to the 125th anniversary of Gabdullah Tukay)
St Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture (RT), the State Museum of Fine Arts (RT) and the Tatar Cultural Autonomy (St Petersburg) presents this project as a part of the wide celebration program of Tukay's anniversary.

The exhibition presents the audience “the golden fund” of the graphic art of Tatarstan, more than 60 illustrations to the most famous works by Tukay created by five outstanding Tatar artists in 20th century: Baki Urmanche, Bainazar Almenov, Faizrakhman Aminov, Irina Kolmogortseva and Nadir Al'meyev. An exhibition «Akimov's way. From buffoonery to tragedy» (to the 110th anniversary).

The exhibition is dedicated to the outstanding director Nikolay Akimov, the head of the Comedy theatre, one of the most famous companies in USSR in 1930—1960s,. A number of Akimov's works from collections of Moscow and St Petersburg is put on display for the first time. Akimov contributed both to theatre and cinema as director and designer. His creative ideas are still actual in the contemporary theatre mixing genres, styles and epochs. Akimov's stagings and films has become the symbol of this city.

«Theatric life in St Petersburg in 19th century».

6 Ostrovsky Sq. «Theatric life in St Petersburg in 19th century» tells about the times when the local scenic tradition begun and national repertoire and artistic school was created. The exhibition presents a number of rarities from the museum collection, which remind us about the first productions of «A Life for the Tsar» by Glinka, «The Government Inspector» by Gogol, Griboyedov’s «Woe from Wit» and «The Mermaid» by Dargomyzhski, operas by Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov and plays by Ostrovsky, Leo Tolstoy and Sukhovo-Kobylin. Press conference will take place in Sheremetev Palace, September 29, 2010 at 3 p.m. Vernisage on September29, 4 p.m.

The exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the composer aimed to present not only his creative activities in theatre, cinema and variety art but also to explore details of his biography: family customs, personal likings, relationships between relatives.

Andrey Petrov decided to become a composer after watching to “The Great Waltz”, a film about Johann Strauss: “Its lies about the composer’s profession were so tempting! A bird sang and a waltz came to being, a postman’s horn blew its note and a symphony appeared! Plenty of flowers and beautiful ladies, and the whole Vienna sing and dance. So be it! I must become a composer» – remembered Petrov.

This ambitious international exhibition project focused on Nureyev’s personality, the most mesmerizing figure to appear at the world ballet scene in the second part of 20 century, is symbolic for St Petersburg. Here the young dancer started his career and had left the city for good in 1961 for the world scene being already internationally famous. Although Nureyev was all for Russian ballet school he stayed inaccessible for those worshipped his talent in this country. This exhibition becomes the very first occasion to tell in detail about Nureyev’s international career in his native country.

Sheremetev Palace is glad to present unique costumes from the 1960s collected by stage designer and historian of the fashion Alexander Vasiliev. A number of rare dresses haute couture from the period created by the most famous designers such as Chanel, Dior, Balmain, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Nina Ricci, Cardin, Courrege, Laroche, Cassini, Galitzine were chosen for the exhibition. Most of the exhibits come from France yet one can see also the best samples from Italy, England and America.
