Alla Osipenko is one of famous classical ballerinas who is spectacularly graceful and much admired for the poetry and dramatic projection of her dancing. In 1950-1970 the excellent artistic style of Osipenko was demanded by contemporary choreographers such as Grigorovich, Igor Belinsky, Igor I Chernishov, Georgy Aleksidze, Boris Eyfman. For many years an eminent choreographer Leonid Jacobson created ballets especially for Alla Osipenko. She is choreographically gifted and she has created her own artistic world and imparted a depth of expression to her interpretation of classical roles. Alla Osipenko has become the face of soviet ballet achievements of the twentieth century. Being behind the Iron Curtain in Russia unlike her celebrity friends in the West she has managed contributed to significant ballet reforms.
