Honoured artist of Russia, holder of all main national theatre awards including “The Golden Mask” Muscovite stage designer and producer Pavel Kaplevich presents an exhibition of tapestries of his make, “My own”.
He experiments in the fields of cinema, TV, fashion and even advertising, his genre diapason including art-house, classical opera, avant-garde theatricals and many others.
Experimenting with texture of material and volume Kaplevich descends from the realm of sophisticated theatrical matters into reality of manufacture to make revolution inventing a unique technology of the “living” or “germinating” cloth.
Tapestries by Kaplevich are the universe per se, a new word in the modern art and it's quite difficult to find their proper place: it easily can be painting, sculpture or handicraft. An axonometric painting produced at the level of molecular structure...
It's another creative experiment of Kaplevich, a highly explosive attraction where artist's reflections on epochs and fates germinate through the texture of an ancient Gobelin to give birth to a new thought, the thought about future.
