«The Open Collections»The museum initiates a new project «The Open Collections» (2B Graftio St., Petrogradskaya metro station) that gives our guests the unique chance to see the museum holdings and rare collection items and to come closer to the modern museum storage technologies. In the boundaries of the project the legendary collection of Lobanov-Rostovsky (810 items) purchased by the International Charitable Fund «Konstantinovsky» in 2008 and temporarily held by the Museum can be seen from April 28, 2010. Princes’ Nina and Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky collection of Russian theatre designs from 1870s to 1930s is the largest in the world. It presents the variety of artistic schools of this multiethnic country and artistic styles from symbolism and realism to cubism and suprematism. «The Open Collections» can be visited twice a week by appointment.
